It has been quite a journey.

The 2008-2009 academic year was the first phase of the 12th Grade Civics course implementation.  During that year, four teachers–two from Madison Park High School and two from The English High School–piloted the course.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, the course was taught by four teachers in three schools–Madison Park High School, The English High School and Another Course to College.

During the 2010-2011 academic year, the course was taught by three teachers in three other schools– Dorchester Academy, The Community Academy of Science and Health (CASH) and Madison Park High School.

For the current 2011-2012 academic year, the course is being offered by three teachers in the following three schools– Madison Park High School, Charlestown High School and Dorchester Academy.  A fourth teacher will begin the class for the second semester of this academic year at East Boston High School.  Strategic planning and outreach will be conducted during this year towards the goal of maintaining the course at these three schools and expanding to a total of ten schools for the 2012-2013 academic year.
