Considerations of faith

Went to church meeting this morning, and as of late, considerations… interesting to think of those divisions we make between our personal and public personas, and the many different ways that we often exist in relationship to other people, and the ways we project, emphasize (or in some cases shade) what is most core to who we are. Is this Running Commentary blog experiment a place where I ‘lay bare my soul’ so to speak? Not in an overly personal, existential sense perhaps, but I was struck recently about what is represented here (or not) in the way I’m going through this year (and years) of my life.  I have liked taking the time to write out little glimpses of my days over the past few months.

And so, I’ve decided to also put up some periodic reflections and moments of faith and belief in my life. Yes, I like that idea.

This morning, some particularly striking speaking about what faith is… not our attempt to convince ourselves of an experience or belief in God, but rather, God’s response to who we are, and something, in that sense, given to us as apportioned by a particular measure of grace.  Good, right?  I enjoyed that.
