The Good and the Ugly in Kuala Lumpur

Last day in Kuala Lumpur and glad to have spent the day with cousin A-K as we went visited the administrative capital of Malaysia (with its modern bridges, buildings and washingtonian-layout.  The main government masjid there was

particularly impressive, being the fourth largest in Malaysia, with its rising spires and the roundness of the central prayer building.  Guides there happily told us about the prayer services and practices there, while asking us to wear robes that covered our unclothed legs.

The ugly you may ask?  Well, let’s say that I had my first full case of the ‘travel runs’ and I was awfully glad to have packed up some of those travel medicines in advance.  My cousin and I must have eaten something bad for lunch, and we were both down and out for the evening.

Still, happy to end with the good– spending time with my cousin’s two great kids, K-H and M-F, both of whose smiling faces it was so worthwhile to get to know.  (Two useful facts to know that they taught me:  1) Apparently, it’s pretty easy to get a girlfriend on Habbo and 2) expertise with computers starts very, very early these days).

Tomorrow early morning, off to Siem Reap, Cambodia and the Temples of Ankor wat!
