Spring Comes Early South of Home

Sure, come springtime, it makes sense that the grass gets greener and that the trees start bursting a few weeks earlier in the states south of New England.

It’s a whole other order of goodness to see it and feel it though–driving with S. down from Boston to Pennsylvania this weekend with arms perched outside opened car windows and the music turned up.  Where even the most banal of routes in PA, past Wawas (okay those are good) and strip malls, could elicit musings from one of the two how lovely it all was.  (The other sojourner dryly commented there were way better routes than the one we were driving along that early evening).  No matter for the other, though.  It looked and felt wonderful.

A spring evening of reminiscing with S. in West Chester.  So much history in those coffee shops, stores and streets.

And this morning, driving down a few hours further south to D.C.  Time with family and luckily catching some peak cherry blossom action along the Tidal Basin.  Crowded like you wouldn’t believe, but pleasant people all around.  Spring does that to you.

And an evening with the nephew and niece back at the place where we’re staying.  Dinner, baths and pretending to be favorite animals.
