Some pretty hot and humid weather these past few days… thankfully, a break coming with a cooler front coming in later tonight. It’s hard for it not to affect teachers and students in their still-aired classrooms. The lucky ones with fans, or the super fortunate ones (I met one today!) with air conditioning units.
One student yesterday morning having a conversation with herself.
Furrowed brow as she gripped a pencil in her right hand, working diligently on an angle problem. Head leaning close over her paper, edges of her glasses nearly touching her student worksheet. End of a ten minute math period.
“Why is it so hot?” she asks to no one in particular, her head remaining at its own acute angle to her table and her pencil moving.
She answers her own question. “Because God made it hot,” she absently muses.
Good enough for me.
