So S. and I are going to do it. Thanks to a pretty great temporary membership deal through the Groupon website (20 full-access visits for less than $30), get ready for us, Beacon Hill Athletic club! Time to get in some better shape for summer travel.
We strolled into the Brookline Village location this late afternoon to check out the digs. A few basic questions: Um, is there someone here who can give us an orientation? Show us how to use the machines? How about those towels? You know, the essentials. The good stuff that clearly communicates our gym-going prowess. I have to say that the woman at the front desk was nice enough about it.
Maybe the best part of the first visit? Its prelude. An appropriate preparatory afternoon snack. For me? Two Hostess chocolate cupcakes, you know, the iconic ones with the little machine-made white swirl pattern on top and the unidentifiable cream interior (delicious). S. was looking pretty content with a frozen fruit bar herself, as I picked her up on her front stoop.
Heh. Plans to visit the gym over the next few months? Should be good times.
