This is pretty exciting– really connected to conversations that I’ve had, or wanted to have, with other teachers, school department folks and various policy makers. Take a look! Here’s the introduction letter and application information from Jill Harrison Berg.
Dear Accomplished Teachers:
I am pleased to share with you this invitation to participate in an important new development in Boston: Establishing a Boston Teacher Leadership Certificate.
Boston teachers are regularly asked to take on a variety of formal and informal teacher leadership roles, yet they are often left on their own to develop the skills they need to succeed in those roles. BPE’s new Teacher Leadership Resource Center, in close partnership with the new BPS Office of Teacher and Leadership Effectiveness, is seeking experienced teacher leaders to help establish a practice-based, credit-bearing seminar series that will support teachers in developing core teacher leadership skills and result in earning a Boston Teacher Leadership Certificate. As a teacher who has been recognized for the high quality of your teaching, you have much to offer this work.
Please see TL Resource Team_Announcement and Application Link and share it with your colleagues! Regards, Jill Harrison Berg _________________________________
